Healthcare services provided within Hot Springs, South Dakota
Fall River Hospital - A Critical Access Hospital 
Fall River Hospital currently offers 25 beds in its new critical care hospital and is one of 38 Critical Access Hospitals in the state of South Dakota. Hot Springs is the only Critical Access Hospital developed from the ground up, which did not have a current hospital license to convert. This feat speaks of the commitment and desire of our community for primary health services. The purpose of the critical access program in South Dakota is to maintain and improve access to essential health service in rural areas. 

Hot Springs Ambulance Service
The Hot Springs, Ambulance Service, EMS personnel help save lives by responding to medical emergencies including but not limited to, breathing difficulties, traumatic accidents, drowning, cardiac arrest, stroke, drug overdose or acute illness.

EMS services today can include anything from basic transportation to an advanced care facility, to advanced life support at the scene of an emergency and en route to a hospital. EMS practitioners also show care and compassion to their patients and families in their most difficult moments. EMS personnel, at a time of crisis often represent a calm, level-headed perspective during an emergency.

Care Facilities
Hot Springs has four care facilities:  
  • Pine Hills Retirement Community has 61 beds.
  • Seven Sisters Living Center offers 48 beds.
  • The Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home has 100 beds for veterans and spouses. 
  • The VA Medical Center has 130 beds and offers care to America's Veterans.
