Welcome to Hot Springs,

Hot Springs, SD, a community with a forward focus that is building on the heritage of our past. It was the healing waters, a number of warm mineral springs that bubble up along the Fall River that drew multitudes to this beautiful valley. Our founders built iconic sandstone structures to heal our nation’s veterans and healing veterans became our foundation. Hot Springs is home to the Veterans Administration’s (VA) Hot Springs Medical Center along with a recently opened national call center located on the Hot Springs campus. In addition, Hot Springs is home to the newly constructed State Veterans Home that cares for veterans from throughout the state.
Fall River Health Services offers a modern, newly constructed 25 bed critical access hospital with 24 hour emergency room service, a new Seven Sisters Assisted Living and nursing home and is home to the Fall River Rural Health Clinic. The Hot Springs Ambulance Service is located in this modern medical complex along with a “Life Flight” medical helicopter that serves the local area.
The City of Hot Springs is willing to lean forward to assist all looking to relocate to the area. We have abundant clean water and a modern communications network. Located just off the four-lane Heartland Express, we have more than adequate transportation links from north to south and east to west.
In addition we offer a quality of life that few other communities can match. With a moderate climate, some of the cleanest air in America we offer a wide range of recreational activities. The Southern Hills Golf Course is the premier golf course in the area and the Evans Plunge Mineral Springs is the oldest tourist attraction in the Black Hills and accommodates local residents with year round relaxation and recreation. Hunting, fishing, hiking and a host of other outdoor recreation activities along with Wind Cave National Park are just minutes away. The world famous Mammoth Site, an archeological wonder, is located within the city and the signature attraction of the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, is less than an hour from Hot Springs.
We have a proud history and we are leaning forward to grow into a bigger and better future. Come along and join us on that journey.
